Mont Otis

An altitude of 325 meters is the highest point of the Sentier Montauban. From up there you will have a 180° view of the Batiscan valley and the surrounding mountains. It was thus named during the celebrations of the centenary of Notre-Dame-de-Montauban in 1979, in memory of George Otis who settled there in 1886. Before 1979, it was called the '' Mont St-Amand '' du name of Alfred St-Amand who lived there until 1955. It is also known as '' Le Cap à Ti-Fred '' friendly nickname of Alfred St-Amand.

You can access it in 3 ways:

From the bottom of Mount Otis. By going to Cohabitat mont Otis, 429 route Rousseau. From the parking lot a 3.4 km loop will take you to the summit. You can also go straight to the top for a slightly shorter hike but we highly recommend the loop.

From Lac des Pins road. A 1.6 km route will take you to the top. From there you can do the loop (highly recommended) and return to your starting point for a 4.4km ride.

From Pointe du Canotier (km 0). An 11km round trip on the National Trail that will take you through the Parc des Chutes and through different types of forests to reach the summit of Mount Otis after 5.5km.

Free access (donations appreciated)

Accessible all year except deer hunting season in early November.

Dogs are not allowed
